Fire Safety Services
Fire Risk Assessments
Since the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order (RRO) was applied in 2005, responsibility for carrying out risk assessments to identify, manage and reduce the risk of fire, has been placed on individuals within an organisation.
Experienced DBL staff develop fire safety and evacuation plans on behalf of organisations, and perform full fire risk assessments.
As a separate service, we also offer bespoke fire risk assessments on completed projects to fulfill the requirements of the RRO and provide advice on safe maintenance of fire safety systems.
Fire Strategy Development
Development of a fire strategy can be required for all new and existing “complex” buildings. The definition of a complex building is open to debate, but a shopping centre or large commercial development would fall into this category.
When developing a complete fire strategy we focus on the specific needs of each project. In some cases the client or architect may need support in order to gain approval for a design that presents specific and unique fire risks. In other situations the priority may simply be to ensure that the building obtains statutory approval at the lowest possible cost.
